Fair Trade Flowers are a great way to show not only that you care about your mother, but also that you care about the workers who produce your flowers. So yes, if you choose to buy flowers please make sure they are Fair Trade Certified.

That said, another possibility is to donate to an organization working to promote better conditions for all flower workers. You can tell your mom that you made a donation in her name, which she is sure to appreciate.

But what if you could make a donation and possibly get some flowers? Well, there is such an opportunity. The Fairness in Flowers campaign of the ILRF is conducting a fund raising raffle. Tickets are $10 each and your donation enters you for a chance to win one of four Fair Trade Certified bouquets of roses, delivered anywhere in the country. And when you buy three tickets, ILRF will send your mother a bar of the finest Fair Trade Certified chocolate and a Fairness in Flowers greeting card. To get more information or to purchase tickets, visit http://www.laborrights.org/node/1239

Happy Mother's Day!
